Keno Player Marks His Numbers “On the Spot” and Wins $11,250Where do your numbers come from? Strangely enough, James Zygmont of Trumbull got his winning
Keno numbers directly from a lottery poster advertising an unclaimed $1,000,000 Powerball® prize from the December 5 drawing.
“(The retailer) asked me if I wanted to play Keno, but I told him I’ve never played before. He said I should give it a try. So, I grabbed a Keno playslip, filled in the numbers 13, 27, 33, 47, 68, and added the Bonus Multiplier. I played the same winning numbers from the Powerball news flyer hanging from the terminal,” Zygmont said.
When Zygmont saw his first two numbers, 13 and 27, displayed on the retailer’s Keno monitor, he decided to wait a minute and watch the rest of the drawing. Then his third and fourth number came in. “My last number, 68, was the last to hit and when it did, I went nuts,” Zygmont told Lottery officials with a laugh. “I was so excited, I bought everybody in the store their lunch!”
Zygmont won $2,250 for matching 5 of 5 numbers on his $5 ticket in game #13657. Because the Bonus Multiplier was 5X, Zygmont’s prize was automatically multiplied to $11,250.
Zygmont’s Keno ticket was purchased at Donut Inc. at 1827 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport.
