Seymour Man Celebrates Christmas with $50,000 Lottery Prize WinEarly Christmas morning, Dale Cotner of Seymour sat down at his kitchen table with a CT Lottery “Snow Globe” instant ticket and a hot cup of coffee. Shortly after playing his ticket, Cotner discovered he was a $50,000 top prize winner.
“I must have looked at the ticket twenty times,” Cotner told lottery officials with a chuckle. “I thought it was a joke, but it wasn’t. What a great Christmas present to myself!”
Cotner arrived at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill yesterday and received a prize check for $34,151 (value after taxes). Cotner was looking forward to buying a new truck with his winnings.
For selling Cotner his $50,000 top prize winning Snow Globe ticket, Seymour Xtra Mart, located at 44 New Haven Road in Seymour, will receive a $500 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
