Warren Woman Drives Away with $100,000 Lottery PrizeWhile making a quick stop at Midway Market and Deli on 88 Park Lane in New Milford for a bottle of water and a CT Lottery “$100,000 Cashword 4” instant game ticket, Warren resident, Marilouise Bruens, got just what she needed to quench her thirst—six RED words on her $100,000 Cashword 4 ticket, and a top prize worth $100,000. “I was so excited,” Bruens told lottery officials. “I asked a customer nearby to look at the ticket to check it for me. I thought it just couldn’t be right.”
$100,000 Cashword 4, a hugely popular crossword-puzzle style of game, is an “extended play” instant game. The $10 ticket takes more time to play than a standard ticket, and the prizes that can be won are built upon how many matches are made as the play is completed.
Bruens, who plans to move to California in the weeks ahead, arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill recently where she accepted a check for $68,303 (prize value after taxes). “When I get to California, I’m going to buy myself a new car—my old car has 220,740 miles on it!”
For selling Bruens her top prize winning $100,000 Cashword 4 ticket, Midway Market and Deli will receive a $1,000 selling bonus from the CT Lottery.
