Woodbury Man Gears Up After Winning $10,000 Lottery PrizeTwenty-one year old Andrew Voegeli of Woodbury, an occasional “Lucky-4-Life” lottery game player, purchased a $2 “Quick Pick” ticket for the July 25, 2011 drawing. After the drawing, Voegeli gave the ticket to a Lottery retailer clerk to see if it was a winner. The ticket was scanned, but Voegeli was told that it could not be cashed. “When I asked her why not, she said, ‘Because, it’s a $10,000 winner.’ I didn’t believe her,” Voegeli told Lottery officials.
The winning Lucky-4-Life numbers for July 25th were 9 - 18 - 28 - 36. Voegeli matched those four numbers, but not the Lucky Ball number, which was 21. A total of 7,496 winning Lucky-4-Life tickets were sold on that date.
Voegeli, a newly graduated Certified Motorcycle Technician, was joined by his father to accept a check for $6,830 (prize value after taxes) at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill. “You never think that you’re going to win…but, then you do!” said Voegeli. Thanks to winning the $10,000 prize, Voegeli is looking forward to taking a vacation, and paying a few bills.
Voegeli’s winning Lucky-4-Life ticket was purchased at Daly Express Mart at 167 Main Street South in Woodbury.
