Retired Firefighter Is Bristol’s Second “Platinum 10’s” Top Prize WinnerRetired firefighter Louis Mego of Bristol stopped at the 7-Eleven Store located at 200 Riverside Avenue in Bristol, bought a CT Lottery “Platinum 10’s” instant ticket and scratched it. Mego revealed a matching pair of “13’s” and let out a resounding whoop of excitement when he saw he had won the game’s $10,000 top prize. “I’ve had good luck on this game, but this is the most I’ve ever won,” Mego told Lottery officials.
Mego joins Tara Aulenti, another lucky Bristol resident who won $10,000 on June 23 playing Platinum 10’s.
Mego’s trip to the CT Lottery Headquarters in Rocky Hill paid off with Lottery officials presenting him a prize of $6,853 (prize value after taxes) for his win.
Other Platinum 10’s top prize winners include Lisa Canning, East Hartford; Camilla Coelho, Milford; Thomas Doane, Suffield; Janet Edmond, Cheshire; Michael Kroll, Meriden; Richard Larosa, Wethersfield; Ernie Lavallee, Putnam; Luciano Parente, Farmington; Maura Prenty, Danbury; and Ruth Saphirstein, Rocky Hill.
For selling Mego his $10,000 top prize winning ticket, the 7-Eleven Store will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
