The jackpot is the largest in the game's history and third-largest in U.S. lottery jackpot history. Plus, the Powerball jackpot for Wednesday is $345 million, with estimated cash value of $199 million.
The previous record jackpot in Mega Millions was a $656 million prize that was shared by winners from Kansas, Illinois and Maryland in March 2012. The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.0. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 303 million.
The last time the Powerball jackpot was hit was August 11, 2018 in New York. Wednesday will be the 19th draw in the current jackpot run. To date, there have been six Powerball jackpots won this year.
