Surprise Lottery Win! Broad Brook Woman Unknowingly Collects $75,000Lillian Bottomley of Broad Brook was in for a wonderful surprise as she arrived at the CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill. Bottomley recently played “Run The Table” and thought she won $1,650 only to discover she was going home with $75,000!
“I’m just ecstatic,” Bottomley said with a chuckle. “I scratched $1650 and took the day off [to claim her prize].” Handing her ticket in, Bottomley couldn’t believe what Lottery officials told her. She had won the game’s top prize and didn’t even know it. “I added everything up and said ‘Oh wait!’ I just stared at her [Lottery official]—I was very stunned.’”
Bottomley was excited to celebrate with family and enjoy her vacation at the end of the month. She also couldn’t help but smile as she was asked about her plans for the surprise winnings. “I don’t know yet—but it’s going right into the bank.”
For selling the winning ticket, A&B Express located on 110 Main Street in Broad Brook will receive a $750 check from the CT Lottery.
