Stamford Woman Claims $1,000,000 Powerball® Prize for February 6
Stamford resident Anna Rivera recently became $1,000,000 richer after claiming CT’s first Powerball® “Match5” prize winning ticket of the year at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill for the game’s February 6 drawing.
The winning Powerball
numbers drawn on February 6 were 5 - 27 - 36 - 38 - 41. Rivera’s Powerball “Quick Pick” ticket matched the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball number, 12. In total, 18,578 winning Powerball tickets were sold statewide for that date, with prizes ranging from $4 to $1,000,000.
Rivera, who received a prize check from Lottery officials for $683,000 (value after taxes), purchased her $1,000,000 prize winning Powerball ticket at Glenbrook General Store located at 501 Glenbrook Road in Stamford. A Lottery retailer since 2010, Glenbrook General Store will receive a $2,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery for selling the million dollar ticket.
“We’re very excited about selling a winning ticket this big,” said Glenbrook General Store owner, Shydabanu Shaikh. “We’re very happy for the winner.”
