Two Mega Power Jackpots up for Grabs - Why Choose, Play Both

Two Mega Power jackpots are still up for grabs with a combined payout of $999 million dollars! The $654 million Mega Millions estimated jackpot is the 2nd largest in the game’s history, just $2 million shy of the record $656 million in March 2012, and the 4th largest in U.S. lottery jackpot history. The last time Mega Millions jackpot was hit was July 24, 2018 in California. Tuesday will be the 24th draw in the current jackpot run. The overall odds of winning a Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24.0. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 303 million.

The last time the Powerball jackpot was hit was August 11, 2018 in New York. Saturday will be the 19th draw in the current jackpot run. To date, there have been six Powerball jackpots won this year. The overall odds of winning a Powerball prize are 1 in 24.9. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 292 million.

Connecticut’s own jackpot game, LOTTO! jackpot is also $6.7 with an estimated cash value of $5.5 million.

As consumers have the opportunity to purchase tickets for both Mega Millions and Powerball, the CT Lottery reminds and encourages customers to play responsibly.

“It only takes one ticket to win. When jackpots reach hundreds of millions of dollars, we encourage people to use their ‘GameSense,’ or common sense, when playing,” said CT Lottery’s President and CEO, Gregory Smith. “It is important for consumers to use good judgement and to remember to ‘play for fun, not to make money,’ and ‘know the odds.’”
