Powerball® Jackpot Boosted to $550 Million for Nov. 28 Drawing(UPDATED 12:22pm) Wednesday's Powerball jackpot was boosted to $550 million from $500 million further establishing itself as the largest Powerball® jackpot in the game’s 20-year history. A single winner choosing the cash option would take home $360.2 million before taxes.
While Powerball’s $550 million jackpot is certainly tantalizing, the Connecticut Lottery Corporation reminds consumers across the state to "Play Responsibly" and "Know Your Limits."
This CT Lottery reminder is the latest in the corporation's efforts to increase awareness of responsible play issues. The CT Lottery is the primary funding source for the problem gambling programs and services offered by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), providing that agency with $1.9 million annually.
"The public must be conscious and aware of the risks of problem gambling, and at the Lottery we make it our priority to educate consumers about responsible play," stated Anne M. Noble, President and CEO of the CT Lottery. "While lottery games are fun and entertaining, it is important that consumers use good judgment when playing games of chance."
A 24-hour confidential problem gambling HELPLINE is available at 1-888-789-7777.
