Sisters-In-Law Split "Win for Life" $5,000 a Month for Life Top PrizeAs sisters-in-law, Jean Fappiano of West Haven and Barbara Fappiano of North Port, FL have shared many of life’s experiences together over the past 38 years. So, when Barbara scratched a "Win for Life, 16th Edition" instant ticket and saw it was a $5,000 a month for life top prize winner, there was only one thought she had--to call Jean and tell her--that they won.
After the two excitedly marveled at their good fortune by phone, Barbara hung up and made flight reservations to come to Connecticut so that they could experience the claiming of the prize together. "Everything that we’ve ever done, we’ve done together…we’ve shared, as a whole family,” she said.
Today, the Fappiano families arrived at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to accept their $5,000 a month prize in two separate checks for $2,500 a month for life (prize value before taxes). "We’re very close, just like sisters,” Jean told Lottery officials, while Barbara, sitting next to her, nodded her head in agreement. But, in the Fappiano family, there is still more sharing to be done with the prize. "We have a big family to take care of; it’s going to make a lot of lives easier,” they said.
The Fappiano’s are the 48th winners in the CT Lottery's history of the $5,000 a month for life version of the Win for Life game.
The Fappiano’s top prize winning Win for Life, 16th Edition instant ticket was purchased at Krauzer’s, located at 544 Derby Avenue in West Haven. For selling the winning Win for Life ticket, Krauzer’s will receive a $10,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
The winning names, stories and photos on this website are just a small number of the thousands who claim prizes. The fact is, people win every day with the CT Lottery! Below is a list of recently claimed prizes of $10,000 or more. Please Note: When a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.
