No Tricks, Just Treats! Amston Woman Still Without Power Claims $100,000 Lottery PrizeVictoria MacDonald of Amston got something a little better than candy this Halloween; she claimed a $100,000 “
Lucky Times 10” top prize! “I freaked out! I had some nightmares about losing [the ticket],” MacDonald said with a giggle.
MacDonald was standing in line with her husband when she played her ticket. “It was a busy day. I saw a 100, and said ‘Wait, that’s not in the right place!’ I finished scratching and said, ‘No way!’” Not believing her eyes, MacDonald used the CT Lottery Mobile App to scan her ticket. She also had the clerk scan her ticket just in case. “The clerk’s eyes got big and she said, ‘You won a lot of money!’”
Due to Sunday’s storm, MacDonald is still without power and had difficulty finding time to claim her prize. Looking at her winner’s check, MacDonald said with a sigh, “This came at the right time. I’m now debt free and can start planning retirement.” When talking about her husband, she exclaimed, “We finally get to vacation together!”
After receiving her check, MacDonald couldn’t have said it any better, “Best Halloween I’ve ever had!”
The winning ticket was sold at Stop & Shop #674 located on 1391 Main Street in Willimantic.
