Lucky Number “7” is Just the Ticket for Bristol’s $77,777 Prize WinnerFor many people the number 7 is a common favorite.  There are 7 days of the week, 7 colors of the rainbow, 7 notes on a musical scale, 7 seas and 7 continents.  According to Joe Sandino of Bristol, the number 7 is also his personal favorite.  “Seven has always been good luck for me, which is why I like the ‘7 Second Edition’ scratch ticket.  I’ve won some pretty good prizes playing it,” Sandino said.

Earlier this week, Sandino’s affection for the number 7 was more than amply rewarded—he claimed one of the “7” game’s $77,777 top prizes.  “I thought it was a misprint when I saw the prize.  I was shocked,” Sandino told Lottery officials.  “I signed the ticket, took pictures of it, and then locked it up.”

Sandino said he plans to pay off some bills with the prize money he won.  “You always hope to win, but you never expect it.  It was a good surprise.”

For selling Sandino his top prize winning ticket, M&M Discount, located at 80 Wolcott Street in Bristol, will receive a $777.77 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
