Winning Two Lottery Prizes is “Twice is Nice” for Enfield GrandmotherElizabeth “Betsy” Cannon, 72, a store detective for the Stop & Shop grocery chain for more than 21 years—sure has her share of stories to tell about the experience. Today, Cannon had the opportunity to share her own story with CT Lottery officials in Rocky Hill when she arrived to claim $15,000 in prizes.
In just under two weeks, Cannon had the good fortune to purchase two, big prize winning instant tickets on two separate occasions—a $10,000 prize winning “Set for Life, Second Edition” ticket followed by a $5,000 prize winning “$200,000 High Stakes Casino” ticket. Both tickets were purchased at Stop & Shop, located at 54 Hazard Avenue in Enfield. “I bought both of these winning tickets at the same store. It’s really kind of hard to believe!” Cannon said.
Cannon, escorted by her daughter, arrived at CT Lottery headquarters to accept two checks, one for each prize. Her total prize value was $11,833 (after taxes). For the moment, Cannon plans to put her prize winnings in the bank. “Maybe later I can put a down payment on a new car,” said Cannon with a grin.
