New Britain Man Wins $10,000 Prize Playing “Sunny Money”While skyrocketing temperatures recently broke records across the state; twenty-one year old Nick Vincenzo of New Britain broke a personal record of his own by winning $10,000 playing the instant game, “Sunny Money.” “I saw it was a new game, so I bought a ticket,” Vincenzo told Lottery officials. “When I scratched it and saw what I won, I couldn’t believe it. It’s the most I’ve ever won.”
Vincenzo purchased his top prize winning ticket from his favorite lottery retailer, J & J Tobacco located at 3273 Berlin Turnpike in Newington—the same location that sold his father, Michael, a $10,000 winning lottery ticket years ago. “My father liked to buy his tickets there, so that’s where I go now,” Vincenzo said.
Accepting a prize check at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill for $6,850 (value after taxes), Vincenzo commented; “I’ll spend a little money while on vacation. The rest I’ll save.”
For selling Vincenzo his $10,000 top prize winning ticket, J & J Tobacco will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
