It’s a THREE-PEAT! Players Rejoice When 7-2-2 is drawn—TWICE—in the Same Day!While throngs of holiday shoppers were celebrating the day after Thanksgiving in search of the best “Black Friday” deals to be found, a select group of lucky “Play3” players rejoiced when a “Three-peat” occurred—the 3-digit number 7-2-2 was drawn twice on the same day in the CT Lottery’s Play3 Day and Play3 Night games!

Statewide, a total of 1,762 winning Play3 wagers were sold for the November 27 day and night drawings—414 of those wagers were played “Straight” on the number 7-2-2. After all winning tickets are presented for claim, $308,441 in prize money will be paid out by the CT Lottery.

Because each ball number has the same odds of being drawn (1 in 10) and all drawings are completely independent, mutually exclusive events, the odds of the same 3-digits being drawn in the same day are the identical, no matter what number is drawn: 1 in 1,000.

While the odds are the same, a Three-peat is still a rare event. Such an occurrence has happened only four times since “Play3 Day” joined the “Play3 Night” game on February 2, 1998.

Because prize payouts in the game are based upon amount wagered, players could have won $250 (for a $.50 wager) up to $2,500 (for a $5.00 wager).
