November 23, 2012 -- New England Patriots fan, Robert Dempster of Wallingford made a quick run to his local Food Bag store during halftime of the Patriots v. Colts game last Sunday to purchase a CT Lottery “Pinball Wizard XVII” instant ticket.   Not only did his favorite team ultimately win the game that day, but Dempster scored a winning touchdown of his very own—a $100,000 prize winning Pinball Wizard XVII ticket.

“I bought the ticket and brought it home to play,” Dempster told lottery officials.  A winning number match revealed that Dempster won one of the game’s $100,000 top prizes.  “Now I can’t even remember the second half of the game,” Dempster said with a laugh.

Dempster, a die-hard Patriots fan since 1967, arrived at Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill this week to claim his prize check for $68,303 (value after taxes).  “I’m going to buy a new pick-up truck, pay off some bills and save the rest,” said Dempster.  “This is even better than winning the Super Bowl!”

For selling Dempster his top prize winning Pinball Wizard XVII ticket, Food Bag #512, located at 259 Quinnipiac Street in Wallingford, will receive a $1,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
