Chris Cyr Wins “CT Lottery Gold” Instant Game Top Prize
South Windsor Man Celebrates $500,000 “CT Lottery Gold” Prize Win
October 12, 2012 -- Wednesday morning, Chris Cyr of South Windsor cashed a $10 prize winning lottery ticket; rather than pocketing his prize, he chose to purchase two $5 “
CT Lottery Gold” instant tickets to try his luck again. Cyr’s split-second decision will undoubtedly be a moment in time not soon forgotten—it resulted in a $500,000 top prize win.
It wasn’t until later in the day that Cyr played his CT Lottery Gold ticket and revealed a single winning number match giving Cyr the choice of a $500,000 20-year annuity prize or a cash lump sum value of $395,450. Cyr opted for the cash lump sum and drove straight to Lottery headquarters to receive a prize check for $270,094 after taxes.
For selling Cyr his CT Lottery Gold prize winning ticket, 7-Eleven Store, located at 700 Ellington Road in South Windsor, will receive a $5,000 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
