24 Karat Cash” instant ticket and discovered a number match—a pair of 19’s—for the game’s $24,000 prize. “When I saw how much I won, I just started screaming,” Benjunas told Lottery officials with a laugh. “It was great! What an amazing feeling!”
Benjunas rushed to share the incredible news with her family. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Benjunas. “I gave the ticket to my daughter-in-law to check it just to be sure it was right.”
Yesterday, Benjunas arrived at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to accept a prize check for $16,392 (value after taxes). “I’m going to take a trip to Pennsylvania to visit family—and do a little shopping,” said Benjunas with a grin.
Benjunas purchased her 24 Karat Cash top prize winning ticket at Stop & Shop, located at 42 E. Town Road in Milford.
