Herman Freitag of Bloomfield Wins Top Prize Playing “Crown Jewel 7’s” Instant Game
Retired Police Officer Captures $50,000 Lottery Prize
April 12, 2012 -- Retired West Hartford police officer, Herman Freitag of Bloomfield recently caught a lucky break after redeeming some winning lottery tickets.  Instead of pocketing his winnings, Freitag, purchased a “Crown Jewel 7’s” instant game ticket and was rewarded shortly after with a $50,000 top prize.

Freitag claimed his prize check for $34,151 (value after taxes) at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.  “This is so exciting.  I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, and now it’s finally happened…I won!” Freitag told Lottery officials.

For selling the Crown Jewel 7’s top prize winning ticket, Isaac’s Mini Food Mart, located at 18 Mountain Avenue in Bloomfield, will receive a $500 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
