July 24, 2013 --
The owner of a Powerball prize worth $2,000,000 for the April 6, 2013 drawing has yet to claim their winning ticket. The winning ticket was sold in Fairfield County.
The Powerball ticket for April 6, correctly matched the first five numbers drawn, 04 - 07 - 08 - 29 - 39, but missed the Powerball number, 24.
Because the ticketholder added the “Power Play” feature to their ticket for an extra $1 at the time of purchase, the prize, normally $1,000,000, was automatically doubled to $2,000,000.
Because the CT Lottery has a 180-day prize claim policy
, the $2,000,000 prize winning ticket will expire on Thursday, October 3, 2013, if it is not claimed.
The CT Lottery is urging everyone to once again check their tickets carefully, and to sign the back of their tickets immediately, if they have not already done so, to establish ownership.
