August 05, 2010 -- Lottery luck just struck Teresa Sclafani of Norwalk in a delicious way, winning her $10,000... for the second time in four months... playing the CT Lottery's 10X Cash, 3rd Edition instant game.

A trip to a local convenience store to purchase a breakfast sandwich for her daughter was just a fluke, Sclafani told lottery officials. "I asked if anybody wanted something to eat when I bought a sandwich for myself earlier; everybody said no. Of course, when we pulled into the driveway back home, that’s when my daughter decided she’d like to have one, too."

So, Sclafani headed to Country Convenience located at 303 Newtown Avenue in Norwalk to buy a second sandwich. She also purchased a 10X Cash, 3rd Edition instant ticket to scratch while she waited. “I won $10,000 on the same game back in March, so I thought that being lucky before, I would play it again.” Sclafani uncovered a “10X” prize symbol, which multiplied the $1,000 prize amount by 10, for a grand total of $10,000.

It was Sclafani’s second $10,000 lottery win in four months. Although thoroughly excited, Sclafani remained quiet, scanned her ticket using the Lottery “Ticket Checker” which verified it was indeed a $10,000 winning ticket, picked up her purchase and drove home to share the incredible news with her husband.

“It was the best tasting sandwich I ever bought!” Sclafani quipped. Sclafani’s prize check was $6,853 (value after taxes). For selling Sclafani her winning ticket, Country Convenience will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
