July 11, 2012 -- Yesterday was a positively “super” day for Bristol resident, Janet Gaity.  Gaity, along with her two brothers and two sisters, made their way to CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill where together they claimed the $1,000,000 top prize in the lottery’s 4th of July “Super Draw” drawing, which was held on July 4.

Having visited the lottery’s website, Gaity entered her Super Draw ticket number - 109155 - and received an unexpected congratulatory message—her number sequence was a $1,000,000 top prize winner.  “I checked and rechecked the website several times,” said Gaity.  “Who would have guessed—it only took one ticket!”  

Gaity shared her $1,000,000 top prize with her siblings Jonathan Gaity, Daniel Gaity, Donna Galvin and Nancy Jalbert, all who live in Bristol.  “I had to share with my family.  It’s a lot of money for one person,” Gaity said.  The value of Gaity’s top prize after taxes was $683,001. 

For selling Gaity her top prize winning 4th of July Super Draw ticket, Food Bag, located at 396 Birch Street in Bristol, will receive a check for $10,000 from the CT Lottery.   The ten $20,000 second-prize ticket numbers were: 276395, 104606, 326177, 262835, 238299, 121060, 356278, 319164, 350065, and 173100.

Eight of the ten $20,000 prizes have been claimed so far by William Tolento, III, Branford; Pamela Merchant, Meriden; Barry Flanagan, Tolland; Heather Cianciullo; Edward Haury, North Haven, Chester Winnicki, Berlin; Ronald Scarpelli, Stamford; and Ruben Mendoza, New Britain.
