June 06, 2012 -- Beau Smith of West Hartford recently became the CT Lottery’s newest top prize winner in the instant game “10X Cash 5th Edition.”  So far, the popular $10 instant ticket has brought a total of 109 top prize winners to Lottery headquarters to claim their $10,000 prizes.  “I was really excited,” said Smith, who is employed as a printer for the Journal Inquirer in Manchester.  “I checked the ticket a lot of times in the ticket checker; just to be sure I was right!”

Smith, who stopped by CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to collect his prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes), was thrilled with his unexpected windfall.  “I’m going to buy a car!” Smith happily told Lottery officials.

Smith’s top prize winning ticket was purchased at Deluxe Liquors located at 1111 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford. The retailer will receive a $100 bonus check for selling the ticket.

Of the 112 top prizes of $10,000 in the game 10X Cash 5th Edition, 3 top prizes remain to be claimed.  Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.95.  Sales recently began for 10X Cash 6th Edition—of the 113 top prizes; there are 81 remaining in that game to be claimed.
