DRAWING GAMES WINNER!
Steve Sarath of Waterbury Wins Second Prize Playing New England's Lottery Game
Motorcycle Mechanic Rides Off with $25,000 “Lucky for Life” Prize
May 11, 2012 -- In last night’s “Lucky for Life” lottery drawing, two tickets sold in Connecticut came oh-so-close to winning the New England game’s $1,000 a day for life top prize.  Steve Sarath of Waterbury, a motorcycle mechanic, was one of them.

Sarath purchased a Lucky for Life “Quick Pick” ticket for the May 10 drawing, matching five of the winning numbers drawn, 5-15-22-37-39, but missed the Lucky Ball, 15, and won the game’s second highest prize worth $25,000.

“I was watching the drawing on TV.  I thought I had two numbers, but then I realized the next three numbers matched, too,” said Sarath.  “I couldn’t believe it.”

Sarath arrived at CT Lottery Headquarters in Rocky Hill Friday morning and claimed a check for $17,075 (prize value after taxes).  “This is going right into the bank,” Sarath said.

Sarath purchased his winning Lucky for Life ticket at IGA Town Plot Supermarket, located at 286 Fairfield Avenue in Waterbury.
