Lester Bilyou, Sr. and Brandon Dupee Win Single Top Prize in CT Lottery’s July 4 drawing
Norwalk Neighbors Claim $1,000,000 “Super Draw 2” Top Prize
July 28, 2011 -- CT Lottery officials are excited to announce CT’s first “Fourth of July” lottery millionaires—Lester Bilyou, Sr. and Brandon Dupee of Norwalk. The neighbors of six years together purchased several “$1,000,000 Super Draw 2” tickets for the July 4, 2011 drawing. One of their tickets – 294473 – matched the top prize winning ticket number selected on that date and won the $1,000,000 top prize.
Dupee discovered their $1,000,000 win after visiting the CT Lottery website the day after the Super Draw 2 drawing to check their tickets. To verify their win, Dupee took their ticket to a local lottery retailer and scanned it in a ticket checker. “I was caught in the headlights when I saw all the zeros,” Dupee told lottery officials. Later the two men secured the winning ticket in a safe deposit box while they took some time to seek financial advice. “I could not believe we won,” Dupee commented.
Earlier this week, Bilyou and Dupee claimed the $1,000,000 top prize, each receiving a prize check from the CT Lottery for $342,501 (value after taxes).
The $1,000,000 top prize winning Super Draw 2 ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms #4658 located at 136 Main Street in Norwalk. Cumberland Farms will receive a check for $10,000 for selling the ticket.
A complete list of all 1,311 winning ticket numbers is available on the Super Draw 2 game page. Super Draw 2 tickets can also be scanned in a lottery Ticket Checker at any lottery retailer location.
Super Draw 2 tickets expire 180 days from their draw date, so players have until December 31, 2011 to claim prizes.
