SCRATCH GAMES WINNER!
"Life is a Beach" for CT Lottery Greenwich Winner
April 08, 2011 -- Jamie Fiscella and his sweetheart, Dana DeSimone emphatically agree on one thing—last Sunday was the perfect day.  “It was a beautiful day.  We went to the beach, sat in the car and ate lunch, then took a nice walk on the beach,” Dana said.  It wasn’t until later that evening that the Greenwich couple remembered their earlier purchase of some CT Lottery instant tickets, including the $2 game, “Dazzling 7’s.”  Dividing up the tickets between them, they began to play.  “I couldn’t believe it,” Jamie told lottery officials.  “I got one ‘7’ on my ticket, and that was it…I won $17,777.  I thought, ‘this can’t be true.  I’ve never seen a prize of this amount before.”

But, it was true—and as excited as they were about the thrilling discovery, it was too late to have the winning Dazzling 7’s ticket validated by a lottery retailer, which left them no choice, but to wait until the morning to have their ticket checked.  “That was a long night,” Dana laughed.

Jamie and Dana arrived at Lottery Headquarters in Rocky Hill together, where Jamie received a check for $12,178 (prize value after taxes).  “Just yesterday, we were talking about our life, and making plans.  This will go towards our future together,” Jamie said.

Fiscella purchased his top prize winning ticket at 401 Putnam Inc., located on 401 West Putnam Avenue in Greenwich.
