LOCATION:   Human Resources Department, Rocky Hill, Connecticut

SALARY:        CL 16: $42,755 starting annual salary

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation seeks a motivated, professional, team orientated person to perform a full range of secretarial functions and duties in support of a member of senior management and corresponding department.  Duties include but are not limited to designing, composing and formatting correspondence, reports and other specialized documents; responding to inquiries requiring knowledge of and sensitivity to the unit’s functions; organizing, maintaining and monitoring confidential files; greeting and directing visitors; processing department phone calls; scheduling and arranging conferences; and, copying and distributing documentation for meetings and other duties as required. Successful candidates will possess an interpersonal dimension requiring the utmost discretion, tact, diplomacy and the ability to accurately give and receive information.  

Experience and Qualifications:  Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in secretarial work.  Considerable knowledge of office systems and procedures; excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation skills; ability to interact effectively with supervisor, co-workers and the general public; ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner; ability to understand and apply Lottery processes, policies and procedures; ability to work independently and make appropriate-level decisions; ability to follow instructions and perform duties in an accurate and timely manner.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as the ability to learn new computer software systems is expected.  Experience in Human Resources a plus.   College training may be substituted for experience subject to applicable rules.
